Before the program begins, you’ll receive:
A recommended rod & reel guide (budget-friendly and beginner-approved)
Tips for using equipment you may already have
Optional links to local or online retailers
Safe alternatives for practice without hooks when needed
Our focus is on learning skills, safety, and confidence first, so families and groups can apply what they learn whenever and wherever they fish.
For Families (On Their Own)
👇
For Families
Many families already own fishing gear—and that’s great!
If not, we’ll help you choose an affordable beginner setup or show you how to practice skills safely without fishing right away.
No pressure. No expensive gear required.
For Groups (Schools, Homeschool, Youth Organizations)
👇
For Groups & Organizations
Group leaders are responsible for coordinating any fishing equipment if participants choose to practice hands-on.
We provide:
One simple equipment list for all participants
Guidance for shared or rotating equipment
Options for classroom-style learning with no equipment
Safety-first alternatives for younger groups
Many groups choose to complete the program as a learning experience only, then apply the skills during a future outdoor activity.
Event Support & Safety (Online Program)
Even though this version is fully online, we still follow a clear safety-first approach to protect participants during any at-home activities.
How Safety Works for the Online Course
All online lessons use home-safe fishing equipment (no hooks required unless supervised by an adult).
Parents/guardians must supervise any hands-on activities involving hooks, line cutting, or outdoor practice.
We provide clear instructions on what gear is safe for indoor practice and what requires adult supervision.
Zoom support calls are structured, guided, and secure.
Parent/Guardian Responsibility (Required for All Students)
Because the online course involves physical activities done at home:
A parent/guardian must be present or nearby during practice activities.
Participants must use equipment safely and follow all guidelines provided.
The adult supervising is responsible for the child's environment and safety.
⭐ Waivers & Media Release (Required for Online Participants)
Do online participants still need a waiver? — Yes.
All families must complete a digital liability waiver before starting the course. You will not get access to the course until signing and returning it.
Even online, students will be practicing physical fishing skills, which can involve:
Casting practice
Knot tying
Handling line or child-safe gear
Optional outdoor practice
A waiver protects both the family and Reelin Family Fun by clarifying responsibilities.
Photo/Video Release (Optional but Encouraged)
If families submit photos or short practice videos for feedback or share their progress on Zoom calls:
A Media Release Form is required to allow us to use images for marketing.
Families may choose not to sign the media release — participation is still allowed.
If a family declines media permissions, what happens?
They can participate fully.
We simply do not use any identifiable images or videos from that participant.
